Artist Statement

A key aspect of my art is that every piece that I create is inspired by nature.

I have lived in Ottawa for many years with my backyard outside the Greenbelt and near Gatineau Park, where I have learned to appreciate the nature that lives around us.

Every day, I gather inspiration from my hikes with my dog “Cookie”. I explore local forests and I am always on the lookout for local wildlife and scenery, ready to take snapshots of the many, vibrant colours that change with every season which will be my inspiration for new paintings.

I enjoy immersing myself in the diverse world of nature, such as finding interestingly-shaped trees and winding forest paths. I also create portraits of animals as tiny as bugs and hummingbirds or as big as bears and moose.

My artwork is colourful and abstract. I love to create paintings that make everyone happy!
