Art Lending of Ottawa (ALO) was established in 1970 as a not-for-profit artists’ cooperative in the National Capital Region.
We are dedicated to providing high-quality art produced by local artists.
We facilitate rental, lease-to-purchase and sales of art in a variety of media and styles, all at affordable prices.
Our Mission
Art Lending of Ottawa (ALO) is a unique not-for-profit artists' cooperative established in 1970. We are dedicated to making art affordable to as many people as possible.
Local artists working in a variety of disciplines are admitted through a jurying process to ensure that we are offering art of the highest quality. To ensure that our art is affordable, we facilitate rentals, lease-to-purchase and sales.
Rental & Sales
By enrolling as a Borrowing Member at no cost, you will be entitled to lease and purchase original works of art.

Art Show Location & Dates
We hold four one day shows each year, normally on the first or second Saturday in March, June, September and December; from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at:
Jim Durrell Recreation Centre,
1265 Walkley Road, Ottawa, Ontario
Admission and parking are free and there is wheelchair access.
Become a New Artist Member
Local artists living within or near the National Capital Region can apply to be juried towards becoming an Art Lending of Ottawa artist. New artists are selected by a jury normally once each year. All applications for new artist members in 2024 have been received. Information on our next jurying schedule for new artist members will be posted here in early Spring 2025. Become a Non-Artist Volunteer
We have many non-artist volunteers who simply enjoy being surrounded by fine art and artists in a vibrant art organization. If you wish to join the Art Lending Volunteer Team, please contact us.
Art Rentals for Business Offices and Home Staging
Specific art requirements for your business can be arranged by contacting us. Rental rates for our art are based on the price provided for each art item in the website gallery. A minimum three month rental period can be increased in one month increments, as required for home staging.
Art rental is an option for many businesses, providing tax advantages and an opportunity to more frequently update your office art. Art Lending of Ottawa has a large selection of local art in our gallery for the business office or to stage, show and sell your home. Large paintings and photographs for your office lobby or conference room can be viewed in our special large paintings /photographs gallery
