Artist Statement

I completed my BFA at the Delhi College of Art in India in the early 1970s with a specialization in printmaking. Between 2013 and 2019, I divided my time between cities in the UK, Canada and India every year. I immigrated to Canada in late 2019 and have been living primarily in Ottawa since then.

Living in different cities presented the opportunity to observe new surroundings, colours and light.

The desire for Artistic expression has been strong throughout. I kept painting, and have rendered my memories as abstract compositions and landscapes. Nature and people’s interactions with it, is a theme running through my works. I enjoy visiting the woods and the countryside. The colours and scenes I observe there often feature in my paintings.
