Membership Registration


Annual Membership Registration and Renewal

Current artist members (Active and Inactive) are required to register annually by 30 June in either category. (If a member is resigning, please email the Membership Coordinator or artlendingofottawa@gmail.com)  If payment is not received by 01 July, it is presumed that you have withdrawn. Registration includes completing and submitting a membership application form updating contact information and payment of a registration fee $125. for active members and $25. for inactive members. Inactive membership ensures that an artist can become active the following year without being juried in again.

New applicants who are applying to join ALO, do not fill this form until notified. New Juried In Members will be notified by the ALO Membership Coordinator sometime in July to complete their membership registration based on space available. If space is not available at that time, their name will be held until a space is available.

Reminder of ALO membership policies: 

  • There is no refund of membership fee once paid.

  • All active and new members are expected to volunteer for the ALO by assisting at art shows (training is arranged) or assisting with Board responsibilities (ie. Executive positions, committee participation, budget planning and marketing); indicating your experience and interest on Membership Application form.

  • New and renewing members are to ensure a minimum five images of their art currently for sale and rental are posted in their ALO online gallery and any sold art is removed promptly from the online gallery. All information on art images, size, medium. framing and price with Bio, images and changes in online gallery postings are to be emailed to artlendingofottawa@gmail.com

  • Artists will adhere to all the procedures in preparation of art for shows, arrival and pick up time as directed prior to the art shows.

  • Art is either “for rent or sale” or for “rent only ”for website and shows. Agrees to the terms of ALO rental procedures. See Rent & Purchase for details.

  • ALO is not responsible for any damage if incurred during the shows or by a renter but ALO will request compensation from the renter if damage occurs and try to prevent any damage at the art shows.

Payment

  • Payment is required by Interac E-Transfer to artlending2022@gmail.com.

  • PayPal payments cannot be accepted.

  • Your membership renewal will not be considered complete until payment is received.


Financial Compensation

A commission of 20% is charged by ALO, on all rentals and purchases.  This is retained by ALO to offset the organizational costs of administration, advertising, space rental, etc.

Artists will receive payment from ALO, every month for sales, and every three months for rentals.


Rental Rates

Art work is rented for periods of three (3) months, based on the value of each article (as identified by the Artist), at the rates listed in Rent & Purchase

Artists are encouraged to bring art priced at a variety of price points to enable as many customers as possible to find something within their price range.

Rental payments may be applied toward the purchase price of an article.
