Louise Lemaire Patterson

Acrylic

Biography

After retiring with 30+ year’s as a civil Servant in Ottawa Ontario, Louise searched for her second career. Louise has always been interested in crafts, music and creating items of beauty around the house. After spending some time watching videos of Artists creating their works, she decided to give it a try.

Self taught, with the help of some wonderful artists who graciously share their techniques and progress she found her passion with a paint brush, blank canvas and acrylic paints. Color and variety is what gives her the inspiration to paint whatever comes to mind, from abstracts to landscapes to something mystical.

Louise prefers to paint whatever comes to mind at that moment. Some paintings have come together out of something that was another idea but changed and resurrected something else. It is important for Louise to be able to express her variety of style, themes and techniques as it is to be able to sing and play different kinds of music.

Louise grew up in Deep River Ontario and has lived in the Ottawa area for over 30 years.

She is a member of the North Grenville Arts Guild, Manotick Art Association and Art Lending of Ottawa where she meets and learns from other Artists. Louise participates in local area craft shows where she loves to meet other artisans and get feedback from people about her work. This gives her a sense of what she is doing well and where there is room for improvement.

Her goal is to have her work displayed at affordable venues where anyone can purchase an original piece of Art.

Her mission is to continue to put on canvas her perspective of shapes, colours and imagination to entice the viewer to wonder how, to ask where, to feel captivated, to love what they see.
