Born in Ottawa, Leah , who is a Canadian listed artist, has painted mostly on location in the Gatineau Hills.
Early on as a public school student, she was chosen to attend classes at the National Museum.
Later, while attending the Banff School of Fine Arts where her instructor was a well-known artist, Murray MacDonald, Leah’s oil painting “Canmore” was selected to tour with the University of Alberta for one year.
She has studied at Carleton University, several art schools and has taken workshops with many accomplished Canadian and American artists including Daniel Greene and Carl Schaefer. Locally she has studied with Henri Masson, Robert Hyndman and Bruce Heggtveit.
Being a member of several art associations has given her many opportunities to exhibit her paintings. Leah has also exhibited in solo and juried shows and has received numerous awards for her work including first places in portraiture and in landscapes.
She has also participated in several art auctions such as the National Council of Jewish Women Art Auctions and Walker’s International Fine Art Auctions.
Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections.
