ART LENDING OF OTTAWA
BECOME AN ARTIST- MEMBER
If you are an Artist who wants to promote your work, ALO offers an exciting opportunity to lease and sell your original artwork.
Much of our current bank of work is two-dimensional, but we would welcome a variety of different art forms. In pursuing a higher level of artistic endeavour, we do not accept "craft work", but if you feel that your work exceeds that characterization, you are welcome to apply to have your work juried.
Each year, Art Lending of Ottawa provides a series of one-day shows and sales. During 2018, there will be 4 shows; on the first Saturday of March, June, September and December.
Only artists who have been accepted through the jurying process may become members of ALO.
Artist membership fees are due on the first day of ALO’s new fiscal year (September 1) each year. The full membership fee for 2017-2018 is $125. The inactive membership fee enables existing members to retain their membership for $25.
Failure to pay the full membership fee or the inactive artist membership fee will require an artist to reapply and be re-juried. There is no guarantee that a previously accepted artist will be accepted on making subsequent applications.
Please send cheque and completed Contract with the Artist to:
Art Lending of Ottawa, 229 Centrepointe Dr, Ottawa, ON, K2G 5L5
Once paid, there will be no refund (full or partial) of the membership fee.
A commission of 20% is charged by ALO, on all rentals and purchases. This is retained by ALO to offset the organizational costs of administration, advertising, space rental, etc.
If a client uses a credit card to pay for rentals or purchases, the credit company charges will be deducted from the 80% compensation due to an artist.
Artists will receive payment from ALO, every month for sales, and every three months for rentals.
Art work is rented for periods of three (3) months, based on the value of each article (as identified by the Artist), at the following rates:
$ 75 - $ 100 = $ 36. $ 701 - $ 800 = $ 78. $1401 - $1500 = $120.
$ 101 - $ 200 = $ 42. $ 801 - $ 900 = $ 84. $1501 - $1600 = $126.
$ 201 - $ 300 = $ 48. $ 901 - $1000 = $ 90. $1601 - $1700 = $132.
$ 301 - $ 400 = $ 54. $1001 - $1100 = $ 96. $1701 - $1800 = $138.
$ 401 - $ 500 = $ 60. $1101 - $1200 = $102 $1801 - $1900 = $144
